"On October 29, 2016 I entered into a contract agreement with Pedro Alvarez of AA Construction in New Braunsfels, TX to do the following services for my home: Install tiles as back-splash on kitchen walls, Install 1 vent hood stainless steel in the kitchen, remove and dispose of carpet in 1 bedroom, install wood flooring in 1 bedroom, install 1 ceiling fan in bedroom and paint the walls/ceiling in 1 bedroom. Under the terms of the contract Pedro Alvarez was given $1000.00 upfront to purchase the following materials: Vent hood stainless steel for kitchen, paint for 1 bedroom walls, wood flooring & flooring supplies. I supplied the tile for the kitchen back-splash and 1 ceiling fan. The remaining balance of $500.00 was to be given upon completion of All work. (See attachment of contract).

From October 29th to November 3rd Pedro Alvarez failed to complete the work within a timely fashion (November 3rd all work was to be completed). He failed to communicate effectively. He kept giving me the run around, he didn’t adhere to the scheduled times he was suppose to do the work. The few times he did show up to my house he was late & no work was really done. I had to call him on several occasions to check on his whereabouts. He failed to show me the Vent hood & wood flooring/materials that he was to purchase per contract. The painting of 1 bedroom walls by one of his workers was the only work started from Oct. 29th to November 3rd.

The bedroom was painted poorly and was to receive another coat of paint & touch ups in which was not completed. He took 2 1/2 boxes of 17-1/4" x 17-1/4" Phoenix Beige Ceramic Tile from my garage and didn't return them after claiming he couldn't cut & use this tile for the kitchen back-splash. I felt as if I was being ripped off and taken for my $$$. I cancelled out his services on November 3, 2016 via email & text after I kept getting excuses and no work. He has yet to give me my money back for the vent hood, wood flooring & supplies and the 2 1/2 boxes of tile.
