Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"AAA Auto Club should withdraw their request for additional premiums of $1,587 for the policy issuance period from 3/28/2011 to 3/28/2012. They should only be able to request an increase in premiums for the new policy period after 3/28/2012 and then the individual seeking the Homeowner's Insurance (myself) can decided to renew the policy or obtain another a policy from another Insurance Company. Increasing the replacement cost of a home by $600,000.00 from the original stated replacment cost - in just a 2 month period - is misrepresentation of the policy they offered."

  • I am an agent in TN so I don't know if things are the same in TN but it's possible that when the company got back any inspection they may have done they found other features that were not originally included in your agent's replacement cost estimator. You are required to insure your home for 100% replacement cost. The company has a 60 day discovery period, in the state of TN, in which they can make changes, of course, they have to be warranted, or they can cancel your policy for any reason. If the company discovers something after the 60 day discovery period then they have to wait until the renewal period to make any changes or cancel your policy. I doubt this will help you any or feel any better but it sounds to me like the agent that originally quoted your home is to blame - not the company itself.
