Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"In May, my family and I were visiting with our daughter. We had driven out from Alabama. I have a 2004 Cadillac Deville. The car was missing, as though it had a miss fire, this was at a moderate speed. Get it up to about 70 it would smooth out. Also the service engine light was on constantly.

On or about May 15 I took it into Alexander Cadillac there in Ventura, Ca. They told me that they would put it on their engine analyiser and let me know exactly what the problem was. They did that, but didn't let me know what they did to my car. Never showed me any parts that they replaced. When the car was ready, the Service Writer called mr to let me know what they did and I said to him, you haven't even given me a price yet. He said "are you sitting or standing." I said to him what difference does it make. He said Mr. Segars it came to 2,250.00. I came unglued. So instantly he dropped it to 1,835 and change.

I went to get my car, put the 1,835.00 on my AMEX card, as soon as I got in to drive off the car was doing the same thing, skipping and the service engine light still on. This was on a Friday, I immedately called the dealership back and the same service writer said bring it back on Saturday. I got there and the Service dept was closed. The Service Writer said however the tech that had perform the service on my car was there. They took it back and in just a short while came back with a story about one of the parts that they put on my car was bad, bring it in Monday and there woulld be no extra charge. I went back on Monday, they took the car in and in a short while came back to me and said they found the problem, put it would be 500.00 more. I refused to let them touch my car again, I called AMEX and disputed the charge, took it to another Auto Shop in the area and the person fix my car with just one part and said that was all it needed to start with. He charged me a little less than 400.00 and the car has been running smooth as silk since. The shopped that fixed my car is CJP Automotive Inc. 415 Transport St. Unit A, Ventura, Ca. 93003. I qould recommend this shop to anyone, he was fair, honest and very professional. On a scale drom 1-10, 1 being worse 10 being best CJP Automotive would get a 10 from me.

This shopped returned to me the defected part that was causing the problem. I never saw a part taken fro my car at Alexander Cadillac. After I returned to Alabama I got a nasty letter from Alexander Cadillac that read, " if you return your car to us we will thke off our parts and call it a day. That was as dumb a statement any one could make. Here I am 2100 miles away and he wants me to return the car so thet can strip the so called parts they put on. These people know they are in the wrong and are trying despertly to still riip me off.

I've already reported this to you all on the phone, but I wanted to follow up with this for my records."
