Claimant says:
"I have spent literally thousands of dollars on my teeth. Unfortunately, most of it wasn't by my own choice. I have had over 8 root canals and dozens of fillings. I've had dentists tell me that my teeth are well taken care of but it's like they are rotting from the inside. I have Ameritas insurance through my employer. Ameritas has a policy that they will not replace crowns for 10 years. That is a problem because what if my crowns go bad after 8 years? Why is 10 years the magic number? There is no such thing as a time period working the same for each patient because not every dentist does high quality work in the first place. Ameritas is refusing to replace my crowns because it's only been 8 years. I can not help the way past dental work has held up nor can I help that my past dentist didn't do exceptional work. I am asking for Ameritas to pay for at least part of the work, not even 100%. I think that is fair as it's been 8 years not 8 months or only a couple years. The truth is that my past work didn't hold up to the chosen amount of time, but does anyone have a heart for dental and medical expenses anymore? I can't afford over $5,000 is dental bills and insurance companies are supposed to be there to help alleviate some of the expenses. I pay them to help with expenses. I am extremely disappointed in Ameritas dental insurance."

    Dental Insurance companies create policies based on the amount of money an employer wants to spend. If an employer wants to spend less, Dental Insurance companies create more restrictive policies. Unfortunately, if Dental Insurance Companies do not stick to their policies, they will not be in business. Claimant has not taken any responsibility at all! For e.g., what if the claimant has really poor hygiene. No Flossing and brushing for example. Unfortunately, the claimant will have to pay for any crowns but their are ways to get this work done for less than full sticker price such as Dental Access Plans etc.
