Nurse at Dr Smiths office on Thursday June 24th could not get my spO2 reading prior to seeing the dr. She went and got a new reader to try again. Still couldn’t get my reading so she put 2 fingers on my wrist and took my pulse? She says ”see I knew you weren’t dead”. Just after 24 hours later on June 25th at 2pm I was put into pulmonary ICU at Pro healthcare Waukesha with acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. Sp02 reading of 67. Put on 15 liters oxygen dual pump. In ICU 5 days. Issues; could have died What would 24 hours quicker diagnosis done for me Now I need further testing and lung scans Should have never been let out of the Summit hospitalNow weeks later I have over $55,000 in dr and hospital bills with a huge deductible. I am on ACAI’ve spoken to an attorney and he says I have a case of negligence but I’m hoping we can both be stand up citizens and come to a resolution? All my files, tests, everything is in the my chart system as a confirmation as to my claim. Looking forward to hearing back. Dec 06, 2021, Claiming party added:I was contacted by Aurora several months ago saying that they do not handle complaints themselves they turned everything over to CNC insurance and that I would be hearing from them in regards to this claim. Well here we are today December 6th and I have heard nothing. Originally I asked an attorney and he said that I had a case but I chooto work with Aurora myself as a good person. I guess good people finish last?
This is really a poor response
Ridiculous
I assume that you had Covid and not some other issue? We have known from quite early on in the pandemic that silent hypoxia is a serious issue caused by Covid - I myself bought an oximeter for home use, just in case. Any halfway competent medical professional also knows that readings can be difficult with Black patients. I have no idea whether or not you're Black, but if so, that's an extra area of concern that even this old white non-doctor is aware of.
In my opinion your lawyer is likely right that you have an excellent case, depending on your full medical records, including your reason for being admitted; other tests that were given; and the reason for discharge. Were you given any treatment at all?
Has Aurora Health responded? It is very unlikely that they will do so publicly but they certainly should have done privately.
I hope that you are fully recovered now.

PeopleClaim is a new way to resolve disputes online without lawyers or mediators. By inviting suggestions from the public, disputing parties get ideas that can lead to settlement – and the person(s) who contributed them can win a reward.
Here's what to do: Read the case (left side of page). Then go to the bottom of the page and enter your suggestion in the space provided. Click the Solution button.
Your suggestion will be sent to both parties and will post on the claim. If the two sides agree to settle based on your suggestion, you're eligible to win. Note: Cash rewards may be split among more than one person if settlement depends on ideas from more than one contributor. If you have a claim of your own to resolve, click here.
You can submit up to three solutions / rebuttal, you would like to settle or to be voted on.
