Claimant says:
"My partner and I have been denied medical services from VA Medical clinic in Palm Harbor. We are both veterans and senior senior citizens (74 and 80 years of age). We are both eligible and have our VA ID cards from California. However, when we came to Florida and went to the Palm Harbor clinic which was close to where we live they gave us a real runaround. First, they told us we were not eligible and in my case I was making to much money according to the information they had gotten from Atlanta (I suppose that is the regional eligibility center for this area). I know I got my veterans health card in Atlanta when I was in graduate school/ unemployed in late 80's early 90's.
Anyway, they have refused to service us as requested to be assigned to specific clinics i.e. women's clinic - no one ever returned our call regarding the Women's Clinic and they call to assign my partner - a nurse practitioner in the geriactric clinic (now this is 45 days after we registered for health care services. The behavior of the receptionists at Palm Harbor Clinic was rude and very disrespectful and totally disregard for our health and well being."
