Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"The agent Yolanda and her boss Roger wrote an insurance policy for my 18 year old grandson and told him if he adds his parents his premium would be cheaper. He gave them his dad's name Manuel Tyriece Porties and the incorrect DOB being 1979. They listed the father as the insured and Manuel Porties (son) as a driver. My grandson has had 2 accidents under this policy. My son had no idea he was listed until he received a letter. This has caused havoc amongst the family. This company provided false information (fraud) to sell a policy that they got paid off of. They didn’t ask for any of and I was told by Roger via phone today that he didn’t need ID to add Manuel Tyriece Porties. They both should be fired and the policy revoked. They truly did not follow requirements and proper verification."

This is very serious. I doubt your grandson knew what the agent was doing and just thought they were cutting him a break. However, it boils down to what in my opinion is fraud - likely stating that the father is the primary driver of the car, not the son. I strongly recommend that Bristol West Insurance Group and Farmers (its parent company) take this outrageous matter very seriously and put things right. If not, and perhaps regardless, I strongly recommend that the claimant or their son file a complaint with their state insurance commissioner, and (because this will probably affect the son's credit) the CFPB. This isn't at all trivial. WHAT was this agent thinking?- always assuming, of course, that the son gave an accurate accounting of the facts.
