"On 7/30/2012 responding an add at Hispanic newspaper (Washington Hispanic) I ,Ziya K. Akalin
have applied to a position as a coffee maker/salad maker. I have asked oriental lady for a job application. I was told immediately by this oriental lady that they were looking for a lady to do this job.Location of this restaurant is 1451 L street N.W. Washington DC. 20005. Also I have applied to Caffe Phillips At 1776 G street N.W. Washington D.C. several times for different positions e.g. sandwich maker experienced/sandwich maker no experience necessary but was told repeatedly by the oriental man (presumably either Chinese or Korean and owner of the establishment) saying "we don't want man here"/"we are looking for a woman" very rudely and turned down from the door.(Most recent date was 07-29-2012). Was told the same thing in telephone applications in different locations e.g. S.W/S.E. to the best of my recollection."
