Claimant says:
"I purchased a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas with 2 nights on the island for 2 people. I was told that I could also stay in Orlando or Fort Lauderdale during this trip. I was NOT told that I was REQUIRED to stay in Orlando or Fort Lauderdale for 2 nights AND take a timeshare tour PRIOR to the cruise or I would not receive my boarding pass. I was NOT told that I would be required to pay additional fees (per person/per night) to the hotel in Orlando or Fort Lauderdale, which I did not want to go to in the first place. I was also NOT told about the additional fees (per person/per night) on the "ship", which is basically a glorified ferry. I was lead to believe that the large sum of money I paid upfront for this package would cover everything except food and entertainment on the island. I was NOT told that only SOME of the food on the ship was included, only SOME of the entertainment (shows) on the ship was included, and absolutely NONE of the drinks were included. The overall price that we ended up paying was FAR too much for what we got. For what we paid, we could have flown to the island and stayed longer than 2 nights. Which is exactly what we should have done since the "extended stay" on the island was the only pleasant part about our trip; and we did not need to go through Caribbean Cruise Line for that.

It should also be noted that while on the cruise (both to and from the island), we met several people having a similar experience with this company. Many of those people had done their own research (after purchase, like myself) and discovered that this company has an "F" rating from the BBB mostly due to their failure to disclose facts. I don't understand how this company is still doing business."

  • Caribbean Cruise Line has issued a "goodwill credit" to my credit card in the amount of $200. Personally, I feel they owe me much more than that. But I won't hold my breath. I suppose I should be lucky that a business as sorry as this one responded to my claim at all.
