Claimant says:
"Purchased a 5 piece bedroom set from Freedom Furniture on November 29, 2011. On Sunday, May 7, 2012 I discovered a small bug coming from the frame of the bedroom set. I looked on the computer and discovered that what I saw was an insect that resembled a bed bug. I immediately contacted an exterminator who came out and confirmed that it was indeed a bed bug, and it was discovered that there was an infestation in the whole frame as well as the mattress of the bed, and had lie dormant for at leasts 5 months because I had not been bitten in any instance. Was told by the exterminating company known as D & B Exterminating that the insects were lying dormant within the wood of the bed frame and mattress. He also stated that the furniture had probably been in a warehouse and that is where the infestation began.

D & B Exterminating also made me aware that Freedom Furniture would deny any part of the infestation and would determine that this infestation would have began in my home.

After extermintation of the entire home, no other infestation was found and that he would vouch for me on behalf of Freedom Furniture that this problem came from the mattress and frame of the bed. On Monday May 7, 2012 I indeed made a call to Freedom Furniture and indeed they said that all of their furniture is delivered new and the infestation definitely came from the home.

I asked them if they could refund me for what I had paid for the furniture in which they refused. Also asked them to come and pick the furniture up because I do not want any part of furniture that has an infestation of bed bugs and to come and remove the furniture from my home and they refused that also.

They were very rude and not willing to work with me at all. I had to pay $160.00 dollars to have the bed bugs removed. The exterminator did not find any other infestations in any other rooms in the house. I have pictures to prove the infestation."
