Claimant says:
"I, Letha M. Martin purchased siding and windows from Home Exteriors of Fayetteville, on April 7, 2006 for $13,520.00 with a LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY on the siding and a SERVICE WARRANTY on the windows. There is a total of 9 windows. There is a defect on 5 of the windows. There is mildew or cloudy spots showing up between the panes. I washed inside and outside panes the problem is in between the panes. On two of the windows there is a moisture problem. When I called the problem in I was told there was no warranty on the windows because the vendor Home Exterior purchased the windows from went out of business the next day after my purchase. Also Mr. Porreco, President sent me a certified letter stating Gorell the vendor is no longer in business and there is no manufacturer's warranty and I can purchase service parts such as glass from Soft-Lite and to call Soft Lite directly at 800-946-7355. Any assistance will greatly appreciated. Thank you."

  • Ms. Martin,

    There was a Gorell warrany, however Gorell is out of business as of 2010 (not the day after you bought your windows). Your contract dated 3/21/16 that is attached, states "All labor warranted 12 months and materials warranted according to manuafacurer's warranty." The manufacturer is no longer in business, therefore there is no longer a warranty on the Gorell windows. The information quoted above is five lines below price line on contract.

  • As I stated before, I purchased the windows from Home Exteriors of Fayetteville, not Gorell, I consider Home Exterior of Fayetteville the prime contractor. Home Exteriors of Fayetteville is solely responsible for the defective windows. Home Exteriors of Fayetteville was paid for the windows. Bottom line is you got paid for the windows and I want the defective windows replaced.

    I have the same issue with Home Exteriors of Fayetteville. Three of my windows have mold in between the panes. I have called numerous times, but I think they have closed. My letter from Gorell is dated 6 Jun 2012, so I am not sure if it is from Soft-Lite LLC who purchased Gorell in February of the same year or if Home Exteriors forged the letter. This is very frustrating and Home Exteriors should be held liable for the faulty windows. More...
