"On May 10, 2014, I went to the address of 1836 N.W. 38th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33331 to look at a car to purchase that was advertised on Craigslist as being a private owner. I had exactly $2400. available to me for this purchase and when I arrived at the location, learned that not only was it NOT a private owner, but it was a car sales dealer. The car that I went to look at for the amount of money that I had was NOT available. This was clearly a "Bait and Switch" situation. Additionally, Gary Romain, the supposed "owner" of the business, is the man I met and NOT the person that advertised the vehicle privately (Zack, Gary Romain's nephew). Gary represented to me that the car he did have available had a NEW transmission. This was not the case which I learned later when I took it to a private mechanic for inspection.

The car that he did have available was $600 dollars more than I had at the time. I was told that I could pay off the rest in payments with no problems. Not only was this not a private sale but I had to sign an agreement that was in the name of Knight Rider Auto Sales and pay $3000 for a car that was supposed to be $2400, and pay an additional "dealer fee" of $499.00 plus tax.

From the time of that sale, I made initial payment of $2400., then additional payments in the amount of $400, bring total payments made of $2800, for a car that was not even of equal blue book value of $3000. This car turned out to be in very poor condition and to date, I have expended an additional $635.00 in repairs to get the car in reliable working order to make a 30 mile commute each day and to secure employment.

I feel that I was a victim of "bait and switch", fraud and was grossly overcharged for a vehicle that was NOT in good condition NOR equal to Blue Book Value to a 2000 Honda Accord EX valued at $3000.00. I AM DESPERATELY TRYING TO OBTAIN TITLE OF THIS VEHICLE so as not to be concerned every evening that Gary Romain would come and attempt to repossess the vehicle. He did on one occasion when I was attempting to make yet another payment, represent to me that he did try to repossess the vehicle from the address that was on my old Driver's License at the time of purchase.

In addition to the multiple allegations mentioned above, I had an incredibly difficult time getting plates initially for this vehicle as Gary did not perform all of the appropriate follow through paperwork on his end at the time I purchased the car. I simply want POSSESSION OF MY TITLE AND TO NEVER SEE THIS DISHONEST MAN AGAIN!"
