"I purchased a vehicle with this company on March 22nd. Only 3 days after the purchase I begin to have problems. I called Mitch/Smith Chevolet, several times and they refused any responsibility in the purchase of the car. It continues to have more, serious, problems and has become unsafe to drive. This was represented to be a reliable car. I paid money in good faith for a drivable vehicle. It is getting worse and worse . . . . . do I have any recourse?"

  • If the company just at least pay for the broken strut . . . . I would be somewhat satisfied with them showing good faith. They had to know ahead of time that this was wrong with the car. I will undertake repairing all the other things gone wrong myself. I cannot continue to drive this car with a broken strut . . . . it will cause greater problems later. I could barely afford the car but cannot afford repairs too. Just need the car drivable!

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:

  • "greg edwards bought a 1996 camaro and drove the car before he bought it and signed a as is sticker. i will be happy to send you a copy of everything. the car he traded in i had to get a wrecker to bring it to me. the car he bought is 16 years old. I am sorry for the customer feels like that but mitch smith chevrolet was all upfront with everything. We have been in business for 38 years. And we have a great repertation in alabam."
