Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I had my vehicle towed in to My Car Doc because it would not start up on June 1, 2016. Later, that day I spoke with the receptionist who name is Brooks to make sure that my vehicle arrived at My Car Doc.
The Receptionist Brooks texted me back , and she texted, " I can get you out the door after taxes, fee, etc and repaired for 630.04 fuel pump assembly is 271.03 Labor run approx. 3 hours at 297. I stated ok on the same day. And I let her know that I would pick up the Vehicle on June 7.
On June 7, 2016, I called MY Car Doc to lets them know that I was on my way. I called a Gold Taxi cab to get there. once I got there My Car Doc was trying to charged me an addition one hundred thirty dollars along with the total Price of six hundred thirty dollars and four cents.. I feel that this is bad Business practice."

  • On June 1, 2016 Brooks texted me from my Car Doc. she stated that, " I can get you out the door after taxes,fees,etc, and repaired for 630.04 fuel pump assembly is 271.03 labor run approx. 3 hour. I still have the texted message on my phone. This was the only repaired that my vehicle needed nothing else was mention. I have the texted message !! I called my Car Doc on June 7, 2016 Brooks stated that, "the Vehicle was ready for pick up. So I called Gold Cab to drive me there. And I would drive by vehicle back home. I still have the receipt from Gold Cab also. Why would I called for a cab, if my vehicle was not ready. I was under the impression from Brooks on June 7, 2016 my vehicle was ready for pick up. I was planning to drive it back home. again that is why I called Gold Cab. I have a second vehicle. if it was somethings simple that my car doc needed I would have drove my second vehicle up there. There was not multiple issues with my vehicle. The only problem was that it would not start. I kept up on the maintain on the vehicle. I am a lady. So I behavior appropriate. My pastor at Agape church can tell you about my character, and also at my job. The employees at My Car Doc are all hooked up with the Devil.

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:

    "When Ms. Graham had her vehicle towed in, it was towed in for a non-start situation. After diagnostic testing, we discovered that there was a problem with the fuel pump and a possible electrical issue as well. However, until the vehicle was running, we could not determine for sure the secondary issue. We called and gave her the information about the fuel pump, the estimate on pricing and she approved. Once the pump was installed, the secondary issue became more prevalent was diagnosed. This is where the additional cost that Ms. Graham is complaining about came in. Please note that her vehicle is a 1997 Chevy Blazer with over 200,000 miles. There are multiple issues with this vehicle. Also, when Ms. Graham came in to my shop, her behavior was extremely rude and her language was atrocious to the point that my staff had to ask her to leave because she refused to remain calm and have an adult, civil conversation. Her vehicle is now fully repaired and running, and I only have to get paid in order to release the vehicle. She filed this complaint before even getting the car completed. "

  • I had a very similar situation with My Car Doc and after having the car for 4 days they finally seem to have it fixed, but they replaced parts and after 3 days and an entire new AC system the thing still didn't work.  They blamed an "o-ring" for the cause of the problem but after their lame diagnosis of the situation I feel completely ripped off and putting things in that did not need to be replaced at an additional cost of $900 .  When we tried to discuss this with the owner, admittedly we got angry but with reading a lot of the reviews of this business the owner has accused a lot of disgruntled customers of "rude" behavior.  He even called the police on my wife after she became angry so I can't help but think something in the owner's demeanor or how he operates that he pisses people off easily.  Read his responses to complaints and you'll see how they all seem to be putting the blame on the customer.  I am going out of my way to make sure the word gets out on how he does business.  He also makes promises, such at getting me copies of the parts so I could confirm they were new parts and not used ones, and then he refused to give them to me when we picked up the car after the 4th day.
