Claimant says:
"This company (I'm not going to say charity) "called" "me" today using robot technology that purports to be a person with a local accent. "He" was pretending to call for someone else but oops, while he had me...
This company uses scammy, deceptive software that has someone in a boiler room pushing different buttons for what they think are appropriate phrases, delivered in local accents.
"He" says they give $250,000 to troopers but doesn't have a clue how much is taken in - there's no percentage about how much goes to programs, and anything you give isn't tax-deductible.
"Although I.U.P.A. is recognized as a non-profit by the IRS, due to it's (sic) particular tax status (501(c)5), donations are not tax deductable (sic)."
If you search the National Police & Trooper Association online, there are multiple newspaper articles etc. about how scummy this "charity" is and how little money goes to the police and troopers. In these days of "Blue lives matter" efforts, I'm appalled that these people are allowed to have any kind of non-profit status and I'm appalled that they allowed to call. Apparently they also call using these names:
American Police and Sheriff's Association.

Reserve Police Officers Association
International Union of Police Assoc.
Association For Homeless & Disabled Vets
