Claimant says:
"On 15 September 2014 I allowed Quack Quack,Inc (Kirby distributor in Albany, OR) into my residence for a vacuum demonstration. I am the only one that resides at this residence. My berber carpet (15 x 23) is over 10 years old, but is (was) in very good condition with no damages/flaws. During the demonstration my carpet was damaged, a strip of carpet about 20 inches long and as wide as a pencil caught the roller on the vacuum beater (roller) and ripped it out of the carpet. The damage is in a very conspicuous area. I was assured it would be fixed or replaced. I have photos of the damage and I have sent two (2) estimates for a carpet replacement. The company sent me a letter offering me $500.00 for the damaged carpet."

    This company is an absolute scam, and like many other proxy companies kirby uses in small cities all over the west coast they prey on the desperate with promise filled craigslist and Facebook posts saying "no experience needed, make a bunch of money, blah blah blah" you go in for an interview, in which the details of the job are lied about to such an extent it's ridiculous that there isn't a law against it. Claiming it's a "labor position" they get you into an hour and a half long orientation in which they spend the entire time talking about how great the company is, how successful this job will make you, how much money you can make, going as far as to brag about the cars and other luxuries the higher up CEO's have been able to afford through their "hard work" and you too can attain that wealth! When in reality, they find a group of kids that need money, cram a bullshit sales training seminar down their throats, brainwash them into believing in their pyramid scheme, and send them out in a van to go door to door offering to clean people's houses with kirby's products for free. The pay, if you can even legally call it that, comes from whether or not the one kid in that van who's job is to butter these people up to buy their used car priced vacuums managed to secure a sale. Commission for a "labor" job shouldn't be legal, and yet they have been doing it for years.
