Claimant says:
"I only gave 1 star because 1/2 star was not available. I also tried giving a review on their website and it seems that if you don't give them at least 4 stars that they won't show the post. This company has made me afraid to use any Handyman Services in the future. Be aware that the guy that pushes you to sign the contract and gives the quotes (Terry) is not going to be working on your project, and will have no hand in your results in the future. Also be aware that the owner will also not be the one working on your project unless you have a large job ($$$$), and your project will be worked by sub-contractors. So 9 months after we signed the contract and paid in full, our project still hasn't been completed. Myself and my husband have spent the last 9 months calling and hounding the owner of this company to send crews to our house. After dropping $4,800 on renovation costs we don't feel that we should have to keep asking them when they are going to show up to finish our job. Also the last crew left a mess all over the back yard ( boards with nails in them in the same area as where our toddlers play set is). It has been going on so long that even our neighbors have mentioned in casual conversation that they guess this company is never going to return to finish our project. Another factor we had to deal with is that they removed our gutters and then didn't bother to show up for over a month after the fact, so all the rain that we received last spring caused water to leak into our basement and dig out huge holes near the foundation of our house. Only when I called the owner and informed him that we were nearing foundation damage and that they would be responsible for the cost did they come to our property to install the gutters. This whole experience has been terribly disappointing and has caused us to rethink who we will use in the future."

  • Questions for claimant: First, is there anything in the contract about unfinished work? Any guarantees? Next, are you still talking with the owner, i.e., does he return your calls? Third, your terms of settlement call for a refund. Would you settle for completing the job per the contract?
