Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My family and I bought a Taylor Morrison house about 3 years ago. Right after the 1 year warranty expired on our washer and dryer we had to go and buy new ones. Then about a 1 year and a half went by went we had to get our A/C fixed. In between the last year our garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave broke and we had to change out the whole A/C System. The quality of my first home I would say is poor due to the fact that they put low quality appliances in their homes but also there are cracks on the inside ceilings of the house and the garage showing up between the 2 and 3 year mark after we moved in when they told us after a year the house would settle. They cut corners on housing quality in every possible way. I recommend to people to look elsewhere when buying a Taylor Morrison Home."

    Yes the warranty was for 1 year and there was a reason for that. The appliances were all low quality. Right after the 1 year warranty, our appliances started to fail. This includes our washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and entire AC unit. We have only been living in our home for 3 years. Along with this the ceiling and walls started to crack. We have also had a large crack in our tile. The paint on the walls is also very low quality. We are slowly starting to repaint the entire house because of this. We have had to replace 8,000+ in our new home. If you don't stand by your homes and support the people that have bought your homes how does this look upon your business. In your response you said you have no record of us contacting your warranty department but did not tell us the number or how to contact them. This was not helpful. You said the address we used was incorrect what does this have to do with our claim? It is a Taylor Morrison home-no matter where it might be you should stand by that name if you believe they are good homes. In your claim you spelled our name wrong. We would appreciate a response that is helpful to our issues with your home. If we need to contact the warranty department, please let us know that number. Also, every time we have had to buy a new appliance we have been told that the appliances that you put into your homes are very low quality. We were even told that the AC company that Taylor Morrison uses has gone out of business. Again your response was not helpful and was if anything rude. We bought your home and we would think that you would want to stand by the "quality" that you give your customers.

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

    "We have reviewed our Customer Service Warranty records both before and after the now expired 1-Year Limited Warranty and note that we have received no prior record of this homeowner contacting our Customer Service Department within the past 3 years. We need Mr. Dean to please follow the prerequisite protocol and personally send our Warranty Department a letter to address any concerns he may have at this time. Details for doing so are found in both the Warranty materials provided to and acknowledged by Mr. Dean during the Sales/Home Inspection process. Note: The address (as well as the non-existent entity) used in Mr. Dean’s claim are both incorrect and should not be used for future communications in order to ensure our timely response. The correct entity name is: Taylor Morrison, Phoenix Division. The correct address is: 9000 E. Pima Center Parkway, Suite 350, Scottsdale, AZ 85258."
