Claimant says:
"Dr. Rockwell was to do crowns to cover 3 dental implants I had placed on my left lower jaw. I paid him a sum of $6000.00 of a price I was verbally quoted of $7000.00 to complete the service. The left sided crowns were not aligned and the bite was off considerably. Dr. Rockwell filed and drilled the crowns down until the metal they were lined with was exposed leaving the crowns chipped and cracked. Dr. Rockwell agreed to to replace the damaged crowns. When the time came to come to his office for the replacement, I received a telephone call from a staff member who informed me the cost was an additional $8000.00 more than what I had already paid. When I explained to her I was quoted $7000.00 for the completed service she told me I could not come back to the office until the additional $8000.00 was paid. I have tried to resolve this with Dr. Rockwell and Consumer Affairs filed a complaint with the dental board almost a year ago. Since then I now have TMJ as a result of the improperly fitted crowns that are temporarily in place and have constant jaw and ear pain which the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist advised me to have this corrected or it possibly could become a permanent condition."
