Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"3-28-12 Had diamond 360.00 diamond hoop earrings from Macys repaired and cleaned came to pick them up 3-30-12 and diamonds was stolen out of one of my hoop earrings and replaced with diamond cuts! When I asked them what happened to my earrings and wheres my diamonds they put me out of their store. Waited for police to come to make a report they never came."

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

    "First of all I would like to mention that the Tri-State Jewelers, Inc. has been in business for many years and our company has been priding on our exceptional customer service and great customer satisfaction. Mrs. Hambric came to our store to have her earing repaired which was done very professionally on the premises by our store manager Tony. I was at the store at the time the incident happened and was trying to resolve the problem on the spot. We were trying to explain to Mrs. Hambric that in fact we did not replace the diamond in her earing and that type of practice would be in violation of both our moral and professional values and standards. Unfortunately Mrs. Hambric became hysterical and lost her ability to any rational cooperation. She was completely out of control, screaming and threatening our employees at which point we had no choice but politely asking her to leave. After leaving the premises Mrs. Hambric remained standing in front of our store and slandering our customer service to all of our potential customers. We were tempted to call the police, but considering Mrs. Hambric's already fragile state of mind; we decided not to cause her even more distress.
    I would once again like to mention that our company prides on our customer service and it was complete misunderstanding on the part of Mrs. Hambric.
