Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I went to InventHelp for marketing and patent purposes in July 20th 2015. I gave them a down payment of $4500 cash and the total cost of their services was 12,350.00. Which in total I’ve paid $7500. The agreement was for me to make monthly payments for their services. However, InventHelp put me into a loan agreement with a company called Universal Payments. It does say loan agreement on any of my paper work. After paying so much money for what was supposed to be for a patent and advertising I began to get suspicious because they hadn’t done any work on my behalf for marketing or prototype. Sheri Gent is the person who I signed the contract with. Everytime I would call the office she stopped taking my calls. A receptionist would always state that Sheri Gent was business. I talked with Universal payments Supervisor so I could stop making payments because I was led fraudulently into a loan that I had no knowledge of. I was told that Universal payments was a company that I send in payments for my marketing services and NOT a loan. Therefore, it damaged my credit and I was unable to purchase a home due to the hard inquiry on my credit report. This company scammed me out of thousands of dollars. I’m a mother of 5 beautiful children and my purpose of creating this clothing line was to build a foundation for my children. Now I have a custom T-shirt business still under the name of True Xpressions. This scam has set me back financially and mental stress plus harassment."

I agree with the suggestion below about calling the attorney who has a case against Invent Help. You can also file a case yourself in small claims court. The limit in Pennsylvania is $12,000 so you should be good. Just prepare your case carefully.
