CenturyLink is an absolute nightmare to deal with, starting with just getting anyone that has the authority to correct an issue. Once I did talk to someone to do the research requisite in the fair resolution of my initial claim, they did, indeed, verify that I had been given erroneous information by their employee and their response was that, even though that employee had given me bad information but that they still wouldn't accept any responsibility for what I had been told. I have never encountered such poor judgement or willingness to accept responsibility for their errors. I haven't heard from anyone about resolving the issue and, the last conversation I had because they charged my account in error, they threatened me by saying if I didn't pay, they would send the erroneous charge to a collection agency. Based on my issue and the many others I have read, it's only possible that their business practices are borderline, if not totally, corrupt.

Bait & Switch initial sales (never resolved). MANY frustrating hours on phone trying to resolve, and new problems kept happening. Switched from direct-pay to billing, didn't get bill, charged late fee, found out they had misspelled street AND CALIFORNIA; when got "corrected" bill it was for a DIFFERANT amount, and they now misspelled my name. Then they sent me a mystery refund that didn't correspond to ANYTHING. If you have a problem, count on spending at LEAST one full day waiting, being disconnected, being transferred to the wrong department ("Sorry, we can't transfer you, call the main number again", being told you don't have an account (or "It's closed"), or they can't find any record of prior calls or problems. SOO sorry I ever got involved, and now I'm stuck in a contract (of indeterminate length, I am told different things).
