Margaret F. says: This Masland carpet was the most expensive carpet I have ever purchased and it is AWFUL!! I was told by the salesman at Crest Carpet in Allentown that it is pet friendly. It is far from it. My cat throws up occasionally and it is totally impossible to get the stains out and when the carpet installers dropped something on it, they sprayed something on that area and said how great that product was to get stains out. What a joke because that stain remains. I tried everything to get all these stains out with ZERO luck. Additonally, it is so dense that every anything you set on it leaves a ring and kitty footprints all over the place. I HATE this carpet and I had my entire condo installed with it. If I could afford it, I would tear it out and replace it with something more suitable. The carpet that was 12 years old that it replaced looked much better than this overpriced Masland carpet! What a major mistake I made. Actually I think it should be taken off the market.

Craig R. says: I installed Masland La Parade carpet (very similar to their current Seurat carpet) on 1/2" thick, 4 pound padding which is actually too soft. So according to the carpet people, my carpet should have failed prematurely. But after 35 years, it is still in very good shape. The only problem is that it is in my living room which has a 16 foot tall glass wall on the south side, so the carpet gets a LOT of sunshine in South Carolina. As a result, the carpet has faded in some areas. It hurts me to throw out carpet in this condition, but I am doing a renovation and will replace the carpet this year with Masland Seurat carpet. I do not know how they respond to complaints; I certainly do not have any!!

Roxanne P. says: I purchased expensive, luxury wool carpeting from Masland and through De Sitter Flooring in La Grange, Illinois; one person home and very meticulous. The carpet has a large weave defect in the center of the floor and shorty after installation the carpeting started to radically change color. Its located in a low-light basement. Neither DeSitter Flooring or Masland are taking responsibility for this defective product. It's supposed to have a 2 year warranty. Buyer beware from both parties. I have wool runners and area rugs in high light rooms and they are ten years old. Still perfect condition.

Debbie G. says: I got a Masland carpet several years ago. At around 6 months, I noticed shadows in certain highly used areas. I assumed that a cleaning would remove these shadows. (Their claim was that all stains would come out.). Prior to this, I had never had my carpets professionally cleaned before 5 or more years. Since I was seeing what looked like dirt build-up, l called my carpet man to clean my rug. The areas I referred to looked somewhat better, but the shadows still remained. I might point out that my living room carpet is almost 25 years old and still looks great. Also the previous carpet in the family room was white Berber and it was was 20 years old. before we replaced it. We owned both of these carpets when our kids were home and we had a dog. Now it is just my husband and I with no pets. We change our shoes or when we come home and are very particular about our home. We have called and complained many times. We also wrote a letter to the manufacturer. They store where I purchased the carpet did have their rug cleaning people come. The carpet didn’t look any better than when my carpet man cleaned it. They also sent an inspector here. He saw the shadows and tried different spot cleaners on those areas, but there was no change. The last time I heard from where I purchased my carpet, they said that they would be calling me. Never heard from them since. Never again will I purchase a Maseland carpet.
