I was admitted to the OHIO BAR in 1985. I went to work at New York Life and for many years only handled matters involving insurance, trusts, taxes and estate planning. After moving to Florida, I was admitted to the FLORIDA BAR in October 1998 and the federal Middle District of Florida in 2001.I fell in love with the courtroom when I started doing criminal trials at the public defender's office in Orlando. I left the PD's office in 2001. In 2004 I entered politics to run for the office of Public Defender for the Ninth Circuit. Since becoming a full-time trial lawyer, I have handled hundreds of cases, including capital sex battery, attempted murder, DUI, drug trafficking, and many other felony and misdemeanor cases. The year I left the PD's office I took nearly fifty cases to trial or VOP hearing.
