I am in a similar boat, I pass my classes and my comprehensive exam. Was told that I wasn't committing myself in maintaining adequate progress during my quarters. In appealing to learner affairs (which they only correspond with students using email, not a telephone) they indicated that two quarters "demonstrated a pattern of failing to respond effectively. I was suppose to provide evidence that future quarters would "yield different results". Never mind that I had a 3.5 grade point average and that I passed 4 out of the 6 quarters.

I completed all of my coursework and started my dissertation. It was approved by my mentor and the school. I completed the first three chapters and was given a new mentor. My topic and work was again approved by my new mentor and the school. This mentor also left the school as I waited for committee approval. My new mentor would not approve my work. She said it was more of a General Psychology dissertation rather than an Educational Psychology dissertation. The school kicked me out of the program.

This so called university is just a front for fraud. The suck you in and when you are about to exhaust your federal student loan, then you get no further. I was in the PhD Psychology program, took all couses, achieved a 3.8 GPA. Then took the comp exam, failed once, took another course, score was a tie. Tiebreaker failed me again. I took another course, and was then told I would have to wait to take the exam again. I was then advised to settle for a Master's degree. Then, "wait for it"...I had to take another course just to get the Master's degree. By this time, I was out of money and patience. I took the course, and the Master's and got the hell out. It's taken me over 2 years to get past my disappointment. I've suffered severe depression, and had to see a psychiatrist. I now take three medications for depression and anxiety. Capella University caused me to loose 4 years of my life and $150,000 debt. They will not resolve complaints. I am seeking $500,000 for student loans and mental health issues, all stemming from my experience at Capella.
